Junior Store Manager

At JW, you’ll run the store end-to-end—coordinating with merchandising, marketing, and inventory teams to roll out new retail ideas. We need someone who pairs clear-headed sales analysis with practical creativity, keeps daily operations smooth, and coaches the staff. You’ll also join occasional sport-test sessions that feed our social channels.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Communication
- Act as the day-to-day leader of the store and a key point of contact for the CEO
- Provide concise weekly updates and contribute improvement suggestions
- Support, coach, and motivate team members
Customer Experience
- Welcome and advise customers on the shop floor with expert product knowledge
- Take and process in-store, phone, and online orders efficiently
Inventory & Merchandising
- Accurately enter new products into the stock-management system
- Receive, check, and reconcile incoming deliveries
- Keep the store engaging and on-brand by refreshing product displays
Sales Analysis & Reporting
- Track daily/weekly sales
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities
- Present actionable ideas to improve revenue and margin
Brand Engagement
- Help create short video/photo content for our social channels
✅ Must-have
- Grade C / 4 or above in Maths & English GCSE
- Proven ability to coach and motivate small teams
- Confidence using POS and inventory software
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and Excel/Sheets skills
- Enthusiasm & willingness to learn!
💡 Nice-to-have
- 1–3+ years’ experience in retail or hospitality management
- Any hands-on experience playing sport (club, university, or recreational)
- Prior work in a sports-retail environment
- Visual-merchandising know-how
- Basic knowledge of e-commerce platforms

⏰ Hours & Availability
This is a full-time role, requiring 32-40 hours per week, 9 AM until 5:30 PM
We operate seven days a week, so your working days will vary—your two days off won’t always fall on the same days each week, and may not always include weekends.
We’re looking for someone who’s flexible and available across all seven days, with a rota that ensures fair balance and plenty of notice.
